Choosing the right bar stool can be tricky at times. Bar stool height and spacing are vital to have maximum comfort for friends and family. With a plethora of bar stools out on the market to pick from, we want to ensure you find the perfect stool for your home. And no matter what questions

A bar stool is a tall chair and typically comes with a footrest for one's feet. When you think of using a bar stool, people usually assume they’re for bars, lounges, and pubs. However, bar stools can be used for so much more - like the perfect kitchen stools as well! A counter stool is described as a type of restaurant seating where you sit lower to the ground and more comfortably. Counter stools can be used in dining areas, kitchen tops, and bar counters.

Surface height is an essential factor in the decision process of barstools. Table, island, counter and bar heights are standard, but it never hurts to double-check and measure the exact height. Once you have measured and know your precise surface height, you can move on and decide what size stool you need.

After you have determined your surface height, you can move on to what size stool you need. When you are trying to decide which size stool you need, start with measuring your counter or bar's height and subtract 10”-12” from the height of your counter or bar. This will give you the perfect height to sit comfortably with or without your legs crossed.

The last step in the barstool buying process would be deciding how many barstools you need. The width of your counter or bar and the seat width will determine how many stools will fit in your space. For 16”-18” wide stools, the suggested spacing is a 6” gap. For 19”-22” wide stools, the suggested spacing is an 8”-10” gap.

Hopefully, this helped you in your barstool buying process! If you would like additional information to assist with your shopping, don't miss our simple downloadable buying guide. And, you can shop our vast selection of barstools, including a variety of fully customizable options, here!
