The journey to this bar began on the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, surrounding the most famous of the 17,000 islands that make up the Indonesian archipelago, Bali.
There, brightly colored fishing boats are a common and necessary part of life on the exotic island and its neighbors.
These colorful crafts are not only beautiful, but they are important tools for fisherman, helping provide their families with the things they need to survive.
Traditionally, when the boats are deemed no longer seaworthy, they are simply burned as firewood.
However, [Warehouse2120](https://www.watsons.com/our-brands/warehouse-2120) and its partners stepped in to save this exceptional wood to be recreated and redefined into furniture with a unique finish and patina.
Believing in fair trade practices, the team's supplier has long established working relationships with many of the fishing villages, fisherman, and village elders. The fisherman sell them to the supplier, often earning them several months’ wages, putting them on the path to a new boat to continue their craft.
With this eco-friendly boat wood taken to the workshop in Bali, the design team enlists their skilled master craftsmen to step in and provide new life and purpose for all this beautiful wood.
The reclaimed wood is recycled into one-of-a-kind furniture pieces. The wood is never re-painted, as the years of layered paint, weathered by time and elements, help create a striking, one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Watson’s is proud to be an authorized dealer of these home bars, pub tables and other accessories.
